MEET ALEJANDRA, CALIFORNIA THERAPIST
FEEL PEACE IN YOUR LIFE AGAIN.
Alejandra Jimenez Velasco, LMFT
Creating Safe Space for First-Gen, BIPOC, and High-Functioning Adults Who Are Tired of Holding It All Together
Hi, I’m Alejandra Jimenez, LMFT.
I’m a bilingual licensed therapist, eldest daughter, migrant and proud first-gen Mexican-American woman. I provide therapy for adults navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, and life transitions — especially those who feel like they’ve always had to “be the strong one.”
You might be here because you’re…
Always pushing yourself but never feeling like it’s enough.
The one everyone depends on — even when you’re struggling inside.
Overthinking, exhausted, or stuck in survival mode.
Carrying pain from your past or family story, unsure how to process it.
Straddling two cultures, two languages, and too many expectations.
If any of this sounds familiar — I see you. You’re not alone. And therapy doesn’t have to be clinical, cold, or confusing.
You’re in the right spot.
How I work
At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that EVERYONE is capable of growth and vulnerability.
My Approach
I offer therapy that’s grounded, empowering, and safe.
You won’t find judgment here — just curiosity, compassion, and real tools for healing.
In our work together, I’ll help you:
Understand your emotional patterns and survival responses.
Learn to regulate your nervous system and manage anxiety.
Set boundaries that honor your values.
Reclaim joy, rest, and identity outside of survival.
My style is warm, collaborative, and culturally affirming. We can move between English, Spanish, or Spanglish — whatever helps you feel most at home in session.
As a therapist, I am trained in trauma-informed, anxiety and depression modalities and strategies. Through this lens, we will not only gain a deeper understanding of your experiences, but also develop valuable insights that will empower you to move forward towards peace and healing.
Remember, you are in the driver's seat. I am here to walk alongside you, offering compasssion, expertise, and a listening ear. Together, we will work towards your therapeutic goals, honoring your unique journey and honoring the incredible strength and resilience within you.
A Few Things About Me
I drink cafecito with my family and talk about generational healing.
I value connection, intuition, and emotional honesty.
I’m passionate about helping clients rewrite internalized beliefs around worth, rest, and identity.
I believe healing doesn’t mean doing more — it often starts by doing less, more intentionally.
HEre’s what I believe about therapy:
Why I do this Work.
I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to carry so much — to translate, to hold the emotional labor in a family, to strive, and to ache quietly.
I wanted to create the space I wish existed when I was younger:
A space where healing isn’t performative
Where you can be your full, complex self
Where your background is honored — not explained away
Therapy con Ale is rooted in that vision.
The best investment you can make is in yourself.
Investing in yourself is extremely valuable and worthwhile. It has endless potential to help you learn and grow, develop your personality, and open up many new opportunities. By dedicating time, effort, and resources towards your personal growth, you are essentially setting yourself up for lifelong success. So, embrace the idea of investing in yourself and embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and fulfillment.
Your problems do not define you.
It's important to know that the challenges you face in life don't have the power to shape who you are. Your identity is made up of many qualities and traits that go beyond any problems you might encounter. Remember that these obstacles are temporary and don't define you as a person. You have the strength and resilience to overcome setbacks and keep growing. While your problems may affect you, they don't determine your identity.

Therapy looks different for everyone, therefore my primary focus is on creating a personalized experience for each individual. I understand that everyone's journey is distinct, which is why I utilize a range of therapeutic techniques such as Attachment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative therapy, Systems therapy, Client centered and Inner Child work.
These approaches/techniques are used to assist you in addressing your personal story, objectives, and overall healing process. I firmly believe in your ability to steer the therapeutic process and encourage you to actively provide feedback. Together, we establish a collaborative environment where you are empowered to take charge of your own healing and growth.
